This one-day workshop is aimed at Boards of Non-Executive Directors and Trustees who want to have highly effective governance within their organisations.
Effective governance is one of the cornerstones of quality leadership. Trustees and Non-Executive Directors are often highly-skilled professionals, but things can go wrong when Boards and their sub-committees become too strategic or too operational.
This workshop will explore the principles of effective governance and how they apply (or not) in different contexts. It will consider how Boards achieve the right balance of support and challenge and how risk assessment can be used to inform strategic decision making. The workshop will provide opportunities for delegates to reflect on the effectiveness of governance in their own organisations and to produce a governance improvement plan.
